"good food; good price"
7.50
by Samih (from ottawa, ontario)
April 2008 - I went to the diner on a Sunday afternoon; it was moderate in traffic, there were about 4 tables 10 customers. Servers were cleaning up as i walked in which gave me the impression that breakfast hours were over, dissapointing me as i had a craving for a steak and eggs. Yet i found out breakfast hours are till 3p.m. Server was a very polite well-groomed young woman who invited me to any table on the left side of the restaurant (the right side was being mopped). Soup of the day was a spinach n'cream (not my kind of soup personally) but it might be for anyone else. Steak/eggs was well priced at $10 and was excellent, breakfast potatoes were good; i particularly liked that they put green peppers in them. Plate came with a nice assortment of fresh fruit. Food was really the best aspect of this diner. General decor was unusual as the walls had a bistro/steakhouse feel to it, yet the stools, accents and exterior had the 50's diner theme (the place was originally a Rockin Johnny's). I asked if they served alcohol and server told me it was underway, as i walked out i asked another server (hostess perhaps) and she mentioned the same thing. Ample parking for the time i was there, Likely will return next time im in the area.

"Culinary?"
5.83
by David (from Orleans)
March 2008 - The menu advertises that Lunasole will meet my "culinary needs." However, Lunasole is a restaurant, not a kitchen supply store or a cooking show.

The diner previously known as Bramasole and previously known as Orleans' Rockin' Johnny's is now known as the Lunasole Diner. The hours have again returned to include all meals of the day. The breakfast items on the one page in the brief menu are available from 7 am to 11:30 am on Monday through Friday and from 7 am to 3 pm on weekends. Until 25 March, free coffee is offered as part of the diner's grand opening.

The menu is large print and easy to read. There is no French language in the menu nor in the restaurant. Many items include spinach and not surprisingly the soup of the day was chicken and spinach.

I enjoyed pancakes with mixed fruit. This was a nice size stack of pancakes. I was pleasantly surprised that mixed fruit included more than just strawberries and bananas: melons, pineapples,

My partner raved about her eggs Benedict classic: on English muffin with Black Forest ham, cheddar cheese and Hollandaise sauce. Her breakfast included fruit, toast (her choice was rye bread) and home fries with onions. Unfortunately, the onions were raw.

Cora's across the road was too busy.

There was no alcohol for sale.
