by David (from Orleans) July 2008 - A great way to check out service is to visit a restaurant right before they close. We were not yet aware that the restaurant was about to close yet the host graciously offered us a table in the dining area. Fortunately for the staff, we were soon filling our own take home containers. Even so, I asked about bread which was not out on the buffet and again the host kindly offered to make some right away. After paying for the meal, I mentioned chana and dal options which were not on display. Again we were kindly offered some if we desired. We're saving the dal for a future visit.
The Kababish is located immediately south of the Place d'Orléans shopping centre. Upon entering the restaurant, enjoy the wafting aroma of a South Asian bazaar. The bazaari dishes were just what we were looking for late that night. For less than $30, three of us had plenty of food. I ate far more than I should have.
Along with the nan bread (apparently, no tandoori roti are available), we bought a ghobi-veggie dish, chicken korma and spinach ghosht. I was disappointed that the vegetable and chicken curry had so little soup. However, since you pay for the dishes based on weight, I guess it's better to be paying for the meat rather than the curry sauce. The spinach dish had lots of sauce. We also purchased an order of butter chicken which was inhaled by our stay-at-home third party.
