October 2007 - At Swiss Chalet, we tried the latest limited-time-only special, the Southern Barbecue dinner. The piece of chicken was small and shriveled. The ribs were real good and the baked potato was fine. The baked beans and the smallish corn biscuit were a nice touch. Add to that the chalet sauce and the barbecue sauce to paint on the ribs and that is all one gets for $13.99. I was still hungry but hey it was prepared quickly, obviously too quickly.
Is it possible that Swiss Chalet isn’t what it used to be? Perhaps my memory is just that poor and I may be suffering from the good-ol’-days syndrome. Service at the Orleans franchise has been steadily declining in recent years. We travel to the Chalet for dining less and less. If the food quality now matches the service, all the more reason to eat elsewhere.
The Swiss Chalet in Orleans has relocated from St-Joseph to Innes Road.
