November 2007 - In the mood for a steamy (hot dog) but no time to drive to the St Lawrence River and Billy Ks, so we visited the nearest franchise of Franx Supreme at Place d'Orleans.
We beat the lunch-hour rush yet still felt rushed along by the staff.
The fries which accompanied my partner's hot dog trio looked bland. Unfortunately, these same bland fries were the foundation of my meal: a regular size Michigan. The plate was large and full of fries covered in cheese curds (à la poutine), pieces of chicken breast meat, and then covered with a blend of tomato sauce and chili. The chicken and curds were fine but the fries and the sauce were just without taste.
My dining partner did not even finish the small meal. It just wasn't any good. We couldn't even rescue the fries with the ketchup. The ketchup was not Heinz.
Their menu board advertises a smoked meat sandwich, a rib sandwich, Euro sausage, pogo, nuggets and chicken salad. If you are considering eating at this particular outlet in the near future, spend your money instead at the nearby New York Fries.
