| "Oh Basil" |

by David (from Orléans) December 2007 - We were on our way to our local Pho restaurant but the closed sign appeared as we arrived. So instead we visited T’Basil, once known as Oh Basil. The restaurant has a large store front with too many doors. Only one of the doors is the entrance but none of the doors are signed. The place was much more crowded than I expected and more crowded than the manager expected. They were short staff.
However, I am glad we were patient with the wait for service. The meal was delicious. After veggie spring rolls for an appetizer, we shared a two-person Mekong steamboat. This Pho was much more tasty than the noodles in clear soup that I expected. The soup was full of taste and included chicken and a wide array of vegetables. The steamboat came with as much vermicelli as one would need. Now I just need to learn how to enjoy Pho without wearing Pho.
For dessert, I chose both items: Alaska baked banana and a Thai Sunday [sic]. The banana was a bit small but the chocolate ice cream was covered with yummy sesame seeds. The sliced Toddy palm seeds in the sundae were a bit too slimy for my liking.
T’Basil is open in the morning with a special breakfast menu.
