August 2007 - To kick off our summer visit to Ottawa, we spent three luxurious nights at the Marriott Hotel located in the heart of downtown. The spacious, air-conditioned corner suite with king-size bed was tastefully appointed and very comfortable, affording fantastic views of the parliament buildings, Ottawa River and Gatineau, Quebec. We particularly enjoyed having a balcony as well, although it's a good thing it was summer as the sliding door did not close completely! Service staff was friendly and helpful with information and directions, and the room service was prompt and professional. The room was very tidy and included a range of amenities to help make our stay as comfortable as possible. This hotel also boasts such unique features as a rooftop revolving restaurant, and a Starbucks in the lobby, where we managed to grab a cup of coffee every morning to wake us up and prepare us for an upcoming day of exploring Ottawa.
