"Cafe Resonance, Navan"
7.17
by David (from Orleans)
April 2008 - If you find yourself in the countryside east of Ottawa, stop in for a great cup of coffee in a lovely, country coffee house called Cafe Resonance -- and if you don't find yourself out there, plan a trip anyway.
Worth the drive. We went mid-week, mid-day, after shopping and errands, when we realized we were starving. It was well past lunch so we had the quaint little space to ourselves, but it is a busy spot at times. It is a
favourite get-together place for local groups of horse-riders and knitters and dog-lovers. Not all at once, mind you. There is a weekly story time for the kids and an Internet connection if your friends are too far away to
join you. The decor is cozy and there is a selection of local artwork available including phot art cards, crafts and paintings.

We had salad, bean salad and delicious, freshly toasted paninis, with great coffee. If it's past coffee-drinking time, try the hot, green-tea latte. It is surprisingly light and delicious despite its odd
colour. Desserts are to die for -- a picture says it best so check the cafe's website. There is very little info to be found on the web site yet but the pictures speak volumes.

Navan is 10 minutes east of Orléans off Highway 174. Exit right on Trim Road (3417 Trim) and head south. Cafe Resonance is on the left just before you reach the main intersection of the village (Trim and Colonial) where you will see the church, and Laura's Corner, a great little decor store. Just around the corner is the Navan General Store and Chilly Chile's, a popular gift-food shop, so you make a complete visit before or after your coffee house stop.
