| "Simple Japanese-Korean menu: What you'd expect" |

May 2008 - "Miga was very pleasant with no surprises, just a simple, nice restaurant to order a traditional Japanese meal with no strings attached (I'm not into Korean food, so don't ask me how it is at Miga). We started with two miso soup starters, a pot of green tea, along with a small iceburg lettuce salad: I am not quite sure how iceburg lettuce salad became part of the "Japanese food" experience - I think it's a Western import meant to mimic the European meal involving starter salads. Regardless, the starters were pleasant, followed by standard sushi rolls which went down well, though unmemorable. A complimentary dessert drink follows any meal at Miga: a kind of syrupy cinnamon sweet drink which I found way too strong to have more than a sip of: then again, I know tastes are habitual, so maybe I could grow fond of this intensely flavored aperatif."
