"Not as Good as Expected"

by Brandy (from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia)
July 2007 - The Yangtze Dining Lounge was recommended by friends as a fantastic Dim Sum experience. A total of six adults were present at the restaurant on a Sunday in July: all of them were disappointed. The wait for a table was almost 30 minutes but that is to be expected at a good Chinese restaurant. We were seated downstairs, as opposed to the main floor, and the service staff seemed to forget about us. Food carts were slow in coming, as was the water, green tea, and the condiments. All food items tasted good but nothing was spectacular. The pork buns tasted average and the shrimp dumplings were just good. It seemed to take ages for the bill to arrive and just as long to complete the credit card transaction. The only pleasant surprise was the low bill. All six adults were full beyond belief but the cost was approximately $12.50 per person after tax but before tip. The Yangtze warrants another visit but be forewarned of the slow service and ask for a table upstairs.
