November 2007 - For a late lunch at Lotteria Fine Foods, I passed on the daily specials which all came with salad: the club chicken on pita sandwich, the fish with rice, the couscous chicken or the Lebanese sausage sandwich. Instead, I chose the Montreal smoked meat sandwich plate. I'm not sure that I got much value for my money. The meat tasted fine but there wasn't much of it. The bread was filling but was too big, soft and white for my experience with rye bread. There were no fries and no drink with the plate.
The salad was substantial. Fresh mushrooms were a welcome addition to the salad. Rather than the Greek or caesar salad, I chose the garden salad - even if the thousand islands dressing came out of an unmarked plastic squeeze bottle. That, and almost a pickle, is all that came on the plate.
Lotteria Fine Foods specialises in salads, sandwiches, wraps and combos. They also advertise more affordable breakfast specials.
The dozens of tables handle a large noon-hour crowd. However, the low ceiling suggests a bit of claustrophobia.
