February 2008 - Hot peppers has great, bold sign-age outside its establishment, beckoning the restaurant seeker with its self-description of "expressive thai cuisine" to come inside. And so, we did. There are two floors to the hot peppers, and I won't spend too much time describing the interior - as there isn't that much to say. It's conventional without impressing or depressing. The waiter we've had the past two times we've eaten here has been polite and accommodating in answering our questions. Hot peppers has a great wine list, covering the full spectrum of wine offerings for both white and red. I ordered a nice white riesling while we waited for our food to arrive. Our tom-yum shrimp soup arrived as a clear broth with a few shrimp at the bottom. Taking the first spoonful, I quickly realized my spice quotient was being challenged... it was hot! Granted, I'm a mild spice kind of person, so if you enjoy spice, it is probably well within the parameters of "medium." Our tofu, vegetable red curry was delicious... Like most thai food, anything with curry, lemongrass, and coconut milk together makes me melt! A divine dish, though white steamed rice needs to be ordered separately. I would definitely eat here again (I already have!)
