July 2007 - Foxglove Meadow Bed and Breakfast was a delightful place to stay and very reasonable. You feel right at home in the house and yet your bedroom with accompanying personal bathroom is secure. The facility is beautiful and was designed specifically to be a bed and breakfast, yet it is hard to believe only 6 years ago this was all just a field, especially when you view the vast acres of perennial gardens. When we visited, the gardens were awash with colour, butterflies, hummingbirds, and goldfinches. Full course delicious home-cooked breakfasts were so filling we didn't need to eat lunch. They were served in the lovely diningroom overlooking the gardens. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Nearby Merrickville is a pretty, historic town on the Rideau Canal with plenty of artisan wares, unique shops and quaint bridges where you can watch the boats travel through the Locks. You are also not far from Ottawa where there is plenty to do and see. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast as a destination if you are in the Rideau Canal or Ottawa area.
