| "Extremely Filthy, Not smoke free" |

June 2007 - We booked this motel for an overnight stay and was told that all rooms were clean and smoke free. We advised that we were travelling with a young baby so this was important to us. We arrived mid afternoon and were unable to see the room until we paid for it. When we got to the room it was reaking of cigarette smoke and NOTHING had been cleaned. The smoke was so bad we had to step outside with the baby. We immediately went to them and told that that we specified a non smoking room and they then told us that they cannot control who smokes in the rooms. We pointed out that the room had not been vacuumed in a while and was filty and the fridge had fungus in it. The beds had left over hairs from whoever slept in it last and spiders and cobwebs were every where even between the chairs .We were told that if we left we had to pay in full for the room. We pointed out that the room is not what we had requested nor what they portrayed it to be but they simply said " sorry... there is nothing we can do. We returned the key and left but not before taking photos of the room . Our weekend was ruined as it was a long weekend and too late to find anything vacant so here we are back home with no recourse but to ensure that others do not fall victim to this by making our experience public. The fact that it is run down and shabby did not matter but the filth and used linen in the room was too much. I have pictures of spiders running around the room but there is not enough space to upload them. I would have expected them to be at least apologetic about the state of the room and offer to clean it. The fact that we were not happy did not bother them. They already had our money and stated quite bluntly we were not getting it back. I wish we could rate this lower than 1 out of 10 but the rating scale does not allow it. The 1 is only becasue there was a lock on the door.
