August 2006 - This hotel is in dire need of an overhaul. We stayed in one of the triplex rooms and it was awful. The carpet was incredibly soiled, ( and there was *lots* of carpet -- it also went up the side of the Jacuzzi) the bathroom wasn't in good shape, the chairs were stained and the mattress on the bed was absolutely horrid. It too was stained and a big dip made it impossible for two to sleep comfortably.
We were booked for three nights but quickly cancelled once we saw the state of the room. We complained to the manager and he didn't seem to be the least bit surprised (or helpful). They would not refund the first night's stay and everywhere else was booked so we had to stay there and it was dreadful.
The dining room has terrific food, unfortunately there is a latrine smell and the staff was quite unfriendly. It is in a terrific location so it's sad to see such a great space go to waste.
I only saw one room so perhaps this isn't representative of the whole hotel but I would caution anyone to look over this place carefully before booking.
