| "Menu Price Increase" |
by Brandy (from Dartmouth) May 2008 - The Wok-In is still a great little hole-in-the-wall but their prices have increased. Each menu item has increased by about $2 and one dish has even exceeded the $10 mark. The same owner/operaters still work their magic in the open concept kitchen and the #2 and #7 are still absolutely fantastic. They will even rachet up the heat on any dish if you ask. Oh, and don't forget your fortune cookie at the end."

| "A Great Hole in the Wall" |
by Brandy (from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) July 2007 - Located at 30 Montreal Street, just off busy Princess Street, the Wok-In is possibly the greatest hole-in-the-wall in existence. Serving Vietnamese/Thai/Cambodian food, the husband and wife team who operate the Wok-In are able to create an array of fantastic dishes. True to hole-in-the-wall style, the actual space is quite small. They work behind a counter enclosing a very small kitchen, which then leaves enough room for only a few customers to enjoy their fantastic food in-house. Due to the size of the establishment many of their customers seem to opt for take-out. The menu items are made to order and are usually ready in about ten minutes unless there is a line-up, which there usually is. Dishes are ordered by number with #2 and #7 being particularly good. #2 is a spicy chicken stir-fry served with pineapples, tomatoes, lemon grass, and chili peppers, while #7 is a spicy peanut chicken stir-fry served with vegetables and rice. All dishes can be ordered to any spiciness level and most range in price from $5.95 to $8.95. Prices have seemed to have remained fixed for more than a decade! The Wok-In is closed on Mondays and is very busy around the standard lunch and dinner hours. Their fridge is always stocked with a diverse array of non-alcoholic beverages and several water jugs are left to cool in the fridge for those who prefer to remain on the cheap. Forget the uninspired atmosphere and cramped quarters; the Wok-In is all about the delicious food.
