August 2006 - During Kenora's Harbourfest, Anicinabe Camping was full to capacity and went into Overflow camping. Which for anyone who doesn't know what that is... it is a large open area where you pitch your tent where you can find a spot. This is where my family stayed.
Although they gave us a copy of their rules and policies, apparently they only apply on certain days, and at certain times. For example:
They have a No Excessive Noise at any time rule, and a Quiet policy after 11pm. However the party that roared almost all night was the manager's RV site which overlooks the Overflow area. My family were kept awake most of the night with the constant barrage of loud people, swearing, raging intoxicated people. My youngest (under 2 years old) didn't fare too well the next day during the festivities. When we complained to the manager, his response was that since it was a long weekend we had to make exceptions and give people a break. However it wasn't other campers who had problems with the noise policy... it was only the manager and employees. I would not recommend this campground to anyone.
