by Mel (from Gimli,Manitoba) August 2008 - Overall the hotel room was clean. It was starting to look a little worn in places. There were some old stains on the carpet and the floor was very uneven. The room was a good size which was great as we were travelling with 2 babies under 2. The hallways were a bit grungy and the garbage seemed to be stored at the end of our hallway which was at the entrance to the pool. We enjoyed the pool with the kids, but there was a lot of visible sand in the bottom of both the kids pool and the main pool, which doesn't leave you with the best feeling. The waterslide was also not turned on when we were there and there was no signage telling you how to go about getting it turned on.
When I was checking through the room before checkout I did find popcorn on the floor by the bed hidden by the bedspread. We did not have any popcorn so that meant the room had not been vacuumed very well. The beds overall were very comfortable. The cleaning staff was very friendly and very helpful. One very nice lady let me into my room when my room key failed to work.
The jet tub in the bathroom was also a nice feature and we enjoyed using that at the end of a long day. The fridge and microwave were also excellent features of the room and were very clean and worked well. They came in very handy when travelling with 2 little ones.
We enjoyed the breakfast special in the hotel restaurant twice and both times it was consistently good and the staff was friendly. It was also a good price for all the food that we got.
They advertise a playground which I thought would be perfect to kill some time with the kids. It turned out just to be a swingset that did not have any baby swings -- so it wasn't much of a playground and we were unable to use it. That was a little disappointing. It was a pretty good stay but I am not sure it would be my first choice again and I do not know if I would recommend a friend stay there.

by Andrea and John (from Winnipeg, Manitoba) September 2007 - The front desk clerk at check in was not friendly at all - we felt like we were inconveniencing him when checking in. The room we stayed in was clean, but it was across the parking lot from the main building (motel part of hotel which we were not aware of). When the bar let out at 2 am, there was a lot of noise, laughing, etc that woke us up and kept us up most of the night. The ice bucket was cracked and water leaked out, ruining my daytimer. The pool and waterslide was fun, but it needs either a good cleaning or to be repainted. The clerk at check out (a different one) wasn't friendly either. The saving grace was that the housekeeping staff put away my pillow that I had left behind and it was there when we went to pick it up several hours after checkout.
