September 2006 - It was my last night in Baie-St-Paul and decided to have dinner at this restaurant, located on rue Sainte-Anne. What attracted me to this venue was its bold yellow sign and the name itself, Le Mouton Noir or the Black Sheep. Inside, the wooden decor was very warm and welcoming and the host was very attentive, friendly and outgoing. He made an effort to speak English and answer any questions I had. For a starter I tried the artichoke and heart of palm salad which was very good-tangy and fresh. Next, I was served a refreshing ginger/rum sorbet to cleanse my palette. My main course was tuna with a tomato ratatouille and green beans, full of flavour and colour. To end my meal I had the creme brulee which was creamy and very good. It's a good idea to make reservations as this place started to fill up later in the evening. With its inviting atmosphere, pleasant staff and good food, I highly recommend Le Mouton Noir.
