| "Healthy, Raw Goodness in Montreal" |

by Robin (from Victoria) June 2008 - There is a cool little vegetarian and raw food restaurant tucked away on Rue Rachel Ouest, near St. Urbain (at the base of Mont Royal Park). It is a small and bright little shop, with a deli- case showing off todays healthy choices: Veggie lasagna, salads, and lots of little treats. I ordered a hearty smoothie, made with lots of tasty fruits. I also treated myself to a variety of their treats: Cookies with various fruits, raw energy balls with spirulina, ginger, raw cacao, and gogi berries and other combinations (Some of which I cannot remember, because they were in French). The staff were bright and shiny and happy to serve their guests in either French or English. They were welcoming and patient as I ordered in French. We visited the little shop after a full day of city exploring, and it sure was nice to settle in at the tall stools and add our own musings into the journal the store has on its bar by the window. There is only a bar, one other table, and a bench outside, so there is opportunity to get to know the neighbor beside you, or take your treats and smoothies to go and enjoy them as you explore the city. The restaurant is less than a year old. The new owners took over what used to be a ice cream joint. Very soon, they said, they will be selling homemade raw, vegan 'ice cream'. Great news for those ready to try something different on the hot summer days.
