"Great Sandwich, Great Atmosphere, Great Service"
10

by Lynn (from Calgary)
January 2009 - Well, if you are ever in Montreal, you HAVE to go to Rueben’s. This restaurant was so organized and friendly along with serving great food.

I ordered a grilled vegetable and wild mushroom sandwich. It had Shitake and Portobello mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, onions and melted mozzarella cheese served on a thick sourdough rye with garlic bread. It also had Aioli sauce on it which I was told is like a mayonnaise. On the sides of this sandwich was fries, coleslaw and a very garlic pickle.

The atmosphere here is comforting. There were shelving on a wall of bottles of wine. It had a full bar which could be seen from anywhere in the restaurant. Along with dining in, they also accept orders for take-out.

The music was nice with a good beat but it wasn’t too loud.

The is a mural of jazz on a wall; saxophone players, swing dancers and New York to name a few.

The washroom had 2 stalls and was very clean. There were 2 sinks in a large vanity area along with an xlerator blow dryer (very powerful). You have to walk up about 10 stairs to use the facilities.

The staff were sharply dressed in long sleeved black shirts, black or grey slacks, striped black/grey tie and a white or black apron.

The turnover in customers was fast. Honestly, I don’t think the chairs ever got cold by the time they cleared the table and got it ready again for the next customers…they were that efficient without making you feel like you were being rushed out the door.
