August 2007 - While on a recent visit to Montreal, we were on the hunt for a smoked meat sandwich and found ourselves at Reubens Deli Steaks Desserts on Rue St Catherine. The interior decor was inviting and clean, if not somewhat standard though. We were there during the mid-afternoon so the restaurant was quite quiet, but our server was still attentive and did acknowledge us right away. The menu seemed to be varied but we already knew what we wanted - their signature item, the reuben sandwhich. It came accompanied with french fries and a deli pickle (plus two different kinds of mayo for dipping!) We were also impressed with our drinks: tall, cold micro-brewed amber ales were an excellent accompaniment to this Montreal classic meal. Reubens was a great experience in all the important areas: food, drink, atmosphere, service and value.
