October 2006 - Me and my buddies decided to go out on a Friday night to celebrate one our close friends' birthday. We've never been to Orchid so I decided to read up on it and it seemed to be a good spot to spend the night. We contacted the main promoters through their webpage and they got all of us under their guestlist! None of us had to pay any cover charge! The only catch about the guestlist is that it was only valid before midnight (but that's pretty normal for all guestlists in Montreal), so we got there for around 11:00 p.m. The great thing about mentionning that it was a birthday party was that they even hooked us up with a champagne bottle because our group was over 20; they told us they had this policy for birthdays where you reserve your group of a minimum of 15 under their guestlist before midnight and they'll get us that bottle on the house! It was a nice present from the club to the birthday boy.
As for the music, it was pretty decent. The DJs stuck to only hip hop and r'n'b which was really great for us. They've also got a good looking clientele (probably aged between 19-24) and the barmaids were just drop dead gorgeous! The decor and layout was pretty trendy - very St-Laurent. As for the drink prices, it was a bit pricy but that's a given where the club is located. It was about $5 a beer, $6 for cocktails and about 155$ for a 40 oz of Vodka when we ordered it from the bottle service at the bar. Overall, it was money well spent and the boys were all happy.
