October 2007 - For a Saturday night in the middle of the season of awesome autumn colours, we took a brief and extravagant escape to Montreal. Before an afternoon of dining and shopping we checked in before check-in time at the Chateau Vaudreuil Hotel & Suites without any difficulty.
Back at the hotel we went straight to the inviting, empty and large swimming pool (17 metre). After a few dozen laps, we also had the hot tub to ourselves. The spa and the fitness room (full of quality NordicTrack equipment) were also deserted.
The room was wonderful, expensive but wonderful: two beds, two televisions, a bathroom with an oversize tub and his-and-her sinks. There were not a great many channels in the cablevision package, encouraging TV fans to purchase in-house movies.
Complaints: each time the room's air conditioning finished cooling the room, a loud BANG followed.
We paid a premium for a room with a view. However, our garden suite view actually presented a paved "garden" with an ever changing selection of Toyota/Honda/GM/etc "flowers" in various colours!
