"Ultra Modern Look"
8.67
by jeff (from Toronto)
July 2008 - Thoroughly impressed with the uber modern look of the rooms.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Location is perfect, only 15 minutes from the core of Old Quebec City.
Only complaint was that coffee was only available in the lobby and it was too strong.
Several excellent restaurants right by the hotel.
I would book this hotel again in an instant.

"Very Modern Renovations"
7.17
by Brandy (from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia)
July 2007 - As of 17 July 2007, Hotel Pur Quebec City continues to undergo some extreme renovations, opting for an ultra-modern minimalist slant. What used to be a Holiday Inn Select, Hotel Pur is now an independent four-star hotel. The hotel was chosen by chance but it is in an excellent location. The entire neighbourhood appears to be undergoing change for the better. The reception desk and entrance is unspectacular as renovations are ongoing. The renovated rooms, however, are spectacular if not a bit unusual. Almost entirely black and white, almost every part of the room, including the furniture is made up of right angles. This has the effect of making everything look sharp and clean. The view is excellent, the fourteenth floor overlooking much of the city. The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel pool and patio also had a great view. Check-in and check-out speed and ease was average. After taxes, the room and underground parking totalled almost $200. Hotel Pur is probably not worth the $200 bill but it is an interesting experience. If staying at Hotel Pur be sure to check out several of the restaurants with patios just across the street.
