by Wayde (from castle rock, Colorado) June 2007 - I set up a fising trip for myself and some of my close friends, and when looking for a place to stay I found the Howard Johnson, a what i thought a reputible hotel. Much to my surprise, the hotel manager and staff were very unorganized and rude. We were there from June 30 - July 1, and we were to leave by 3am on July 2 so I decided to check out the night before to make it easy on all involved, but the girl behind the counter didnt really know what she was doing (she was learning) which I understood, but she tried to charge my card several times and was only able to get one charge put through for only one of our two rooms, and when she tried again the 4th time, my bank declined the charge. I told the manager on staff that I would go to my room and clear it with my bank and and I would take care of the second room in the morning, he said "that would be fine". About 1 hour later 11:30 pm I was in bed, and he (the manager) called me demanding I come down and pay for the second room right away, I reminded him about our agreement to pay in the morning as my bank would not release funds til after midnight and he became very angry and again demanded I come down now, I told him I was in bed and would be down in the morning. He called back less that 2 minutes later and demanded I come down again. I came down there and took care of the second room right away to avoid further problems, and when I got down there, a different manager was there to take care of things, and she was very pleasant to work with.
The first day and night we were there, we had no electrical power in our room and I called several times and nothing was done until the next day.
I was, to say the least, shocked by the way the hotel was run, and what was allowed to go on there. I am sure, Howard Johnson will take care of this matter with me and the mannor in which the hotel is being run. I would like a total refund (100%) and a phone call or and e-mail in return to let me know what Howard Johnson is willing to do about this matter.
