"A refreshing experience"

by Doug (from Saskatoon)
July 2008 - In my opinion, this was the best place a person can go for a quiet, clean environment. the staff here is very friendly, courteous and quick. You may think the prices are high but wait till you see the amount of food you get and the quality of the food.

Where else can you sit and have refills on coffee or soft drinks, while enjoying the picturesque view of an Old train station where most things were left untouched.

The owner has his staff come around with a complimentary shot of Cherry Jack Brandy that he serves to his customers.

There is plenty of parking and centrally located near a gas station/convenience store, Tourism, Travel Agency and Bus stop.

"Market Mall Food Court"

by Margi (from Saskatoon)
September 2007 - I stood in line behind 7 or 8 other people, looking forward to a Souvlaki and Greek Salad for lunch at the food court location in Market Mall. There was a sign saying Mastercard accepted, so I took out my card and placed my order. After about 10 minutes (it was busy) the woman behind the counter saw my credit card and cancelled my order. I asked her why. She explained that to use a credit card you must place a minimum $8.00 order, and mine was $7.68. This information was posted in only one location, nowhere near the Mastercard sign that I first noticed, but rather on the till at the end of the queue, where it was blocked by other customers and not visible until the end of the transaction. I pointed this out to her and she got angry with me, so instead I told the cook, who was standing nearby. I politely suggested to him that perhaps the minimum charge should be posted in such a way as to be visible to customers. She continued to shout at me as I walked away. I will never eat at any location of Thomas Cook again.

"was the worst visit I have ever had "

by Martin (from peterborough new hampshire)
January 2007 - Well we visited thomas the cook , and first we got sat down and within seconds of opening the menu , linda the waitress asked us if we were ready to order , never asked us if we wanted drinks , missed one order , was too busy talking to the hostess who was eating at a table in the back , we waited 12 mins for her to come back , ordered appetizers and when they came were given no plates for them , they were dropped on the table , we had to ask the waitress linda 2 times for drinks , which she acted like we were bothering her . she asked us 3 min into the meal if we were all set and wanted anything else , Note the restraunt was very empty , gave us our check and never returned not even for us to take the food we didnt eat , this was the poorest excuse for a restaurant , and not to mention the fruit flies in winter buzzing the salads , as a visitor to saskatoon who comes quite frequently , i would stay away from this thomas the cook on 8th street , when i complained to the hostess , the one who was eating when we arrived she shrugged her sholders and just looked at us like we had two heads . I would stay away from this one untill they get their act together or some new help.

January 2007 - Well after giving the 8th st a bad review i decided to try the # 2 location in saskatoon .
was like night and day , the wait staff were excellent , she offered us drinks poured our coffee , took our orders , food came fast the place was packed , and the service was excellent no fruit flys
and we got to take what we didnt eat home , the food was way better than the 8th street , I would reccomend this one is a A+
