June 2007 - Turn dinner into a night out at the Taj Mahal in Saskatoon. It is a family-run Indian restaurant that cuts no corners on quality and they are never in any rush to have you leave. Although it is a bit pricey for Indian food, it really is more of an experience than simply a meal. The friendly owner (and primary server) is happy to recommend dishes, talk about the different kinds of food, or just tell you a story. Go prepared to stay for a few hours because the food is prepared fresh and from scratch by the owner, right down to the chai blend. Have a glass of wine and start with the samosas. My favourite curry has always been the korma (Coconut Curry), but I’ve never been disappointed for branching out. Every time I’ve been there the owners address other customers by name which shows that those people who have been lucky enough to stumble across the threshold have made a return visit.
