June 2007 - Las Palapas—a delightfully colourful and reasonably priced Caribbean restaurant on beautiful Victoria Avenue in Saskatoon. Serving a variety of Mexican and South American dishes (with a twist), and your choice of sweet potato fries or bean salad on the side, this sit down bistro is an excellent choice for those looking to spice up the dinner hour with a little Latin rhythm. If you’re interested in lighter fare, try the soup—your choice of meat or vegetable broth and a self-serve bar to design the soup according to your own tastes. They’ve opened up an outdoor patio that adds to the essence of the Caribbean despite the absence of palm trees and the prospect of a sun tan. They serve their own Las Palapas Light beer on draft and, although it tastes a lot like Coors Light, the tasteful decorations (no patio lanterns), cheerful atmosphere and delicious food make it almost feel like a cerveza.
