January 2008 - The Yard and Flagon—Saskatoon’s favourite local pub and eatery on Broadway Avenue. Everyone has a story from the Yard. You can show up with a few friends and spend the whole night talking to other people. No matter when you go it always seems to be packed, but a proven successful strategy is to get a pint at the bar and hover over the tables until you can swoop in when someone gets up to leave. During the summer months they open the rooftop patio and there’s no better place to be for an afternoon pint. But wear your sunscreen!! It’s also one of the few pubs in the city where it’s ok to share a table with strangers because they won’t be strangers for long. For pub fare, the food is fantastic. There is a great selection of items and the soup is always excellent. Go in on Monday nights for $5 Burger and Beer—the best deal in town!!
