by Lindsay (from Saskatoon) November 2007 - The Cave Restaurant and the Cavern Lounge have definitely worn out their welcome, though apparently Saskatoon is determined not to let them go. It seems those who grew up following the placemat map to and from the bathroom or peeking around stalagmites still find the restaurant and lounge appealing, and continue to frequent them. For everyone else lacking the sentimental connection it’s simply overpriced, substandard, and dimly lit to camouflage the ungraceful aging and long overdue renovations. And the worst part is that you often have to wait in line to get a table. They market themselves as a Greek restaurant but the menu includes a wide variety of pastas, pizzas, steak and seafood, none of which are exceptional. And although the selection may be great, the prices really are not. The only redeeming quality is their famous Orzo soup, which actually is very good.
