November 2007 - Simon’s British Flavours is relatively new to Saskatoon’s downtown. They serve authentic and modern British cuisine with a twist, by making use of local products. The prices are a bit high but the food is fabulous—anything from the menu that attracts your attention will certainly be a treat (though in some cases that is a matter of preference like with the Spicy Pork Belly, which I’ve never been brave enough to try). One fabulous British tradition that we should adopt more regularly is “teatime”. At Simon’s there will be plenty of time to catch up on the gossip with friends over your choice of Two Leaves and Bud organic tea and two freshly baked fruit scones, served with cute little pots of butter, jam and whipped cream. Perhaps in this case the portions are a bit more North American than British. Simon’s is classy and quaint (small) with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, great for a variety of occasions.
