June 2007 - On our way back to Calgary from destinations east, we made a much-needed stop in Swift Current. Tired of the road-trip fare that seemed to consist almost entirely of fast food, we drove in to town in search of an actual restaurant. After wandering around town for a while, we came across Akropol, which is a Greek Restaurant in Downtown Swift Current. Now I'm usually pretty wary of small-town restaurants, but this one surpassed all expectations. It had a nice atmosphere and a good menu selection. I had one of their specials, the spinach and feta personal pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. They have both a restaurant and lounge, and there's a really nice, secluded patio too but it was too cold to sit outside when we were there. All in all it was a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back!
