"Unbelievable and Unforgettable"
by Reg (from Moab Utah)
June 2008 - Read about Walking Dordogne in an Outdoors Magazine, and the article and photo's got me excited about our trip to the Dordogne.
Tried to book a trip for May, but they were fully booked, as luck had it our trip was put forward to June, and we managed to book a trip.
Our guide de Paulus was the perfect guide, he spoke good English, knew all the history of the area, and had a great sense of humor.
The hikes we went on were the "Valley of Caves" and the "Mammoth's Trail".
The hikes were both about 7 hours, fairly strenuous, some climbing and crawling, lots of well hidden prehistoric caves, shelters, underground former river, troglodytes and lots more.
The hikes included a real french picnic which in our case was on a prehistoric ledge at an entrance to a neaderthal cave with stunning views of the Vezere Valley.
Walking Dordogne only take very small groups, and are very busy, but if you get a chance to go on a trip, you should grab the oppertunity with both hands.
We highly recommend Walking Dordogne

"Unforgettable Trip "
by Kale (from West Palm Beach)
June 2007 - We had never heard of "Walking Dordogne" but stayed at the lovely B&B Ferme de Tayac, and it was here that we met a small group of fellow Americans, that had booked a tour with Walking Dordogne..
After hearing the stories and seeing some pictures, we booked a trip.. "Valley of the Caves".. It was an unforgettable experience, and we would definitely reccommend it to everyone. There was not a dull moment. The trip lasted 7 hours, of which we ventured into maybe 20-30 (unmapped)caves, prehistoric shelters, caverns etc.
We really felt like we had achieved something, as a tourist we would have never be able to experience anything like this trip.
Highly Reccommended.
