| "Terrible hotel - disgusting toilet" |

July 2007 - This hotel was the worst one my husband and I have ever stayed in. The room was the smallest I have ever seen - a double bed and a chest of drawers- that was all there was room for - we could hardly walk around. The sheets were so stiff that both my elbows were bleeding from tossing and turning in the night. The bathroom was so tiny but the worst part was the sign on the wall that said "do not flush toilet paper in toilet". Each time you did flush the toilet, a terrible grinding sound was heard and then a disgusting smell followed for about ten min. It made the whole little room stink. We stayed on the third floor and there were no lifts - had to walk with all our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. The cont. breakfast cereal and toast, period. The person at the desk was very inexperinced with dealing with the public and knew very little.
After a weekend in Scotland we returned to London and this time stayed at the Barkston Gardens. This hotel was in the same type of area and about the same age but what a difference! Our bedroom at the Barkston's was huge and so was the bathroom. The room was decorated so lovely and was very nice and clean. We could actually flush our toilet paper and there was a lift to every floor. The cont. breakfast was very nice. PLUS - this hotel cost much less than the Radnor.
I just don't think a hotel like the Radnor should be able to operate with such terrible conditions and we will never stay there again.
