| "Fun and lively Japanese cuisine" |
by Sally (from Fernie, BC) January 2008 - I was visiting friends who live in London and we wanted a reasonably fast but good place to eat in London’s Soho district. Soho itself is an interesting place to walk through if you like to people watch, so it was entertaining just to look for a restaurant. We found Satsuma on Wardour Street and decided to give it a try.
This is a great place if you like a lively atmosphere with long tables and benches to sit at. When you give your order the wait staff write it down on your place setting, which makes total sense to me. We ordered vegetable tempura, miso soup, pork gyoza and a katsu curry. I also had a Kirin beer because I really like to have beer and food from the same part of the world together. I know that there are many restaurants in London to choose from and it is great to try new places but I would definitely go there again if I wanted Japanese food.

| "Great Japanese restaurant in Soho" |
by Joy (from Leeds) June 2006 - If you're visiting London and want a trendy restaurant which is not one of the many touristy joints, Satsuma is a popular Japanese restaurant in Soho. I've been to Satsuma a couple of times, once with friends and family who were visiting from the US and northern England and it is a great place for a casual meal with a group of friends. The menu is reasonably-priced and offers all the usual Japanese staples plus bento boxes for indecisive diners. The minimalist decor with long tables and bench seating creates a hip, fun atmosphere and Soho itself is always buzzing with energy and activity. Besides good Japanese food, Satsuma gives you a genuine London experience without a huge price tag. I'll definitely be going back.
