"Awesome Place, Great Price"

by Jamie (from Tempe)
January 2008 - My family, as well as three of my friends and their families, had occupied four cabins at this resort for three days during the Christmas holiday. I was initilally referred by my boss, whe spent a week there in the fall. We have visited a number of cabin rentals in Northern Arizona over the past few years, but were still very surprised by this little "Jewel" that we had not visited before. All of our cabins were very nicely equippped, comfortable, quiet, cozy, and very CLEAN! No dust, dirt, or spiderwebs here. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and well kept. They have a beautiful horse named "Tuff" that greeted us every morning and just added to our enjoyment. The kids had plenty of outdoor activities to entertain themselves with and we were able to go for a hike in the national forest every afternoon right from our cabin. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating as well. We have already told many of our family and friends and can't wait to go back!

August 2006 - Review: The appearance of the resort (not sure if this name is applicable) from the outside looks very nice, but the interior of the cabin was dated and very dirty. Issues with the accommodations included:

Very Dirty Carpet, Broken Deadbolt on Back Door, Electrical Hazard with hanging lamp (bare wires supporting), Pillows (smelled), Dirty Box Fan (controller broken), Dirty Dust Bin in Closet with broken handle, Missing Closet Door, Plunger in the Bathroom (a first), Fly-Swatter on top of Microwave (Hygiene), Inadequate heating (Portable Heater) for Cold Night, Old Furniture with Knife Mark Gouges (Rocker Chair), Sign Not to Use Blankets on Floor for Dogs (Blanket Smelled).

We have stayed in much nicer cabins for the same price in Payson area and would consider this our last visit to this establishment.

In my 20+ years experience in the hotel industry, the code name "212" was used to classify a very small percentage of customers like Mr. Gonzales, the person whom wrote this review regarding my property. These customers always have the same approach and can be spotted a mile away. Their approach is to complain, complain, complain, then demand a discount or a refund. Mr. Gonzales was onsite for nearly 24 hours before lodging a single complaint. After speaking to us, he would not allow us into his cabin, would not accept a different cabin, and would not leave the resort earlier than planned, even with a refund. He simply told us that we can refund his money or he would slander us in any way possible. I have a recorded telephone conversation with him stating these terms and would be happy to share it with anyone whom asks. He also states that he would happily settle for another return visit, as long as it was free. Why is he eager to return if this is such a horrible place? Why did he not accept our refund and leave the resort? Why would he not allow us into his cabin to see any legitimate problems? Why do our guests constantly rave about what a beautiful, CLEAN, WELL-MAINTAINED resort we have? Why is the majority of our business from repeat customers and referrals? I would bet all I have that Mr. Gonzales pulls this act in every restaurant, hotel, or resort he visits. Most probably succumb to his demands in order to avoid his negative publicity. We, however, will not. We provide a beautiful cabin at a beautiful resort for a very reasonable price. Anyone in need of referrals simply need to contact me. I will put you in contact with as many customers as you'd like that have been to our resort in the past week. I GUARANTEE you will hear nothing but praise! I personally see to it. Thank you. PS: When stating his complaint, Mr. Gonzales provided false email address, name, and state of residence to this website.
