"A pleasant surprise"

by Robert (from Boulder, Colorado)
April 2008 - When we booked this hotel we were expecting a clean, decent room as we have had at other Best Western hotels.
The room in this hotel was huge, extremely clean with a great bath.
Loved the hot tub, sauna and the arcade and bowling alley were a huge hit with the kids.
The pool was not opened for the season as of yet, but if it were, we would not have been able to get the kids to leave the hotel.
The restaurant in the large lobby (I forget the name) was very good and the continental breakfast went far beyond our expectations. There was a bar/grill right next to the arcade & bowling alley that we did not have time to try, but what I saw it looked like decent light fare.
Was originally looking to stay in Williams AZ and we were so glad we didn't.
We drove the 50 mile two lane road to Williams on our way to Vegas and it was not fun. I could imagine what a horror show it would be in the high season.
This hotel has a great location and you can find anything you need within a mile.
The website for this hotel does not do it justice.

"A Pleasant Surprise!"

March 2008 - We were quite surprised, and very pleased, with our recent stay at this facility during our trip to the Grand Canyon. The check in process was efficient and pleasant. The room accommodations neat, clean, spacious and comfortable.

We did have dinner at their in-house restaurant and while the food was quite good, the service was spotty and a little erratic, although the staff was friendly. Breakfast the next morning was an event to remember! We decided to take advantage of the complimentary continental breakfast, but it was a true mad house. It was school break week so there were loads of families and it was total chaos! Next time we would opt for breakfast in the dining room.

We normally stay at a competitor facility (95% of the time) but because of our experience here, we will definitely consider them again.

"Best Breakfast"

November 2007 - Nice clean rooms. Quick check-in/out. Reservation was as requested.....no variance or complications. The free continental breakfast is unlike any I've seen anywhere.... a huge comprehensive buffet and everything was very fresh. Overall a great experience at this Best Western.

October 2007 - The Best Western was the Best Best Western I have stayed at. The hotel staff was nice the room was great and the continental breakfast was more than adequate. I'd definitely stay there again.

"Reasonably competent"

June 2007 - A good hotel for those visiting the Grand Canyon. The drive from Tusayan to the GC village is about 7 miles, although with traffic and speed limits, this can take the best part of half an hour. Best to get off early in the morning.

Check-in delays at the hotel were atrocious when we arrived - 5pm on a Sunday. And there weren't even many people waiting - it was just very slow. Hopefully, this was exceptional. Check-out at 7.30am was perfectly OK.

Room was clean, comfortable and good size. Pool quite small though. Restaurant quite upmarket - good food but not cheap. Pity about the tepid water!

We paid $159 a night for a twin queen bed room - not cheap - but you're paying for the location.

"mosquito problem inside the room"

May 2007 - We stayed a night over there. Staff at the food area in first floor are really very helpfull. How ever, we found few mosquitoes and bugs inside our room.

Otherwise it was a nice stay in Best Western Grand Canyon Squire Inn.

"Very Nice Property"

March 2007 - This is a very nice place to stay. I felt the food was the best out of all the restaurants in Tusayan. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and had the ammenities found in bigger city resorts (like internet service). They also have a very nice gift shop. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a clean and comfortable stay in this area. It is worth the extra money.

"poor value"

October 2006 - Best Western Squire Inn's advertisement and address lead you to the conclusion that they are right on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Instead they are about 1 mile south of the National Park entrance which is about 12 miles from the actual grand canyon area. For the money, the hotels located in the Grand Canyon Village (not the same town) are a better deal. The room at the Squire Inn was adequate but smelled of smoke even though it was "non-smoking." Next time I will stay in Flagstaff and take the train to the South Rim and use the buss shuttle service provided. There is a better selection of restaurants and hotels at much cheaper prices.
