July 2007 - My family's get-away to the Pismo Lighthouse Suites began with happy news: I'd been upgraded to a 2-room suite (1-K, 2-Q's) with a partial ocean view (#2207). What a delight! All staff- from desk staff to housekeeping to groundskeeping- were cordial, friendly and accommodating. High marks for room amenities include: Bath & Body Works shampoo/conditioner/body lotions, wonderful lighting around the mirror, the ledge in the tub (firm place to sit to clean sand between toes), wall hooks everywhere you need one, huge lighted closet, frig and microwave, best-of-all a comfortable BED! I'm used to waking up 4,5,6 times thru-out the nite in a hotel due to a "firm" bed (at home, I sleep on an airbed)...all 3 nights at the Pismo Suites I woke only once.
Positive praise for the extras: ping/pong, badmiton, putting green and life-size chess in the courtyard, the waterfall pond, the cliffside walkway overlooking the ocean. I didn't use the pool or jacuzzi. It would be nice for adult swim and jacuzzi time, but that's just me.
The short walk to the beach included a three block walk on a well-lit residential avenue and about 50 steps down a new redwood staircase built with plenty of resting places on the way up, too!
Breakfast! I love breakfast! Made my own waffle, had oatmeal, yogurt and juice. Also available: pastries, cartoned cereals, boiled eggs, hot chocolate, bagels and English muffins. Coffee carafe was never empty for more than 2 minutes. Thank you, thank you. Such a pleasant stay.
