December 2007 - We were told when we booked our trip to San Francisco for Christmas that it would be hard to find a place to eat on Christmas Day. That wasn't the case and we found this great place right on Pier 39! The place was packed and the serving staff said it generally was. The specialty of the house was - CRAB - and lots of it. I asked about the steak and the waiter said "why steak - this is a crab house!" We ordered the double shrimp double crab sizzle and that is all you get, but lots of it. We got a full crab of a generous size and lots of shrimp (I didn't count but there were plenty for both my husband and I to share.) This is an eat-with-your-hands kind of place. (They do provide the bibs and hand wipes!) This isn't a place to go if you are looking for a salad - in fact - I didn't see a single vegetable on any of the plates that went by our table, but no one appeared to mind. Even though the place was packed, the food came quickly and the serving staff were very attentive. We would definitely include this restaurant in our travel plan for the next time we visit San Francisco.
