April 2007 - As a visitor to the city, eating out in San Francisco can be a breeze (there are so many choices) but also quite intimidating (there are so many choices!) After visiting the Haight and Castro areas of the city, we were scouting for a place to have dinner and chanced upon Chow. From the outside it appears an ordinary, if somewhat trendy, diner but inside the place had more the ambiance of a bistro and was packed with locals (mostly young working professionals). It was early in the evening so we didn't have to wait long for a table and were glad we did. The food was sophisticated (and yummy), the service unpretentious, and the prices very reasonable.
Cool vibe, away from the tourists, easy to get to and inspiring fare. And...awesome, mammoth desserts! Chow indeed!
