November 2006 - I happened to go to this establishment yesterday night 11/15/06, and I had the worst experience with one of the staff members. The service provided by the bartenders was very poor in general because they do not approach the clientele to try to serve them, instead us the patrons, basically have to beg for a drink or yell across the bar top to try to get their attention.
The customer service displayed by one of the bartenders was THE WORST I have ever seen, and this is coming from a person that used to work in the hospitality business/fine dinning.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was when “last call” was announced. I approached the bar and I asked this individual for one last drink, he ignored me for a little while and then told me that he “was closed”.
I can totally understand this. The problem emerged when another patron, which happened to be a friend of mine, approach the bar, stood right next to me and ask the same bartender for one last drink; to my surprise he agreed to make it, so I ask one more time for one last drink for myself, unfortunately the employee only made my friends drink and not mine.
Obviously, I felt discriminated against so I confronted the bartender and asked for an explanation to his lack of customer service skills... He had the boldness to tell me that he didn't serve me and did serve the person that came after me, because the other person had tipped him $20 earlier.
I could not believe what I was hearing...basically he was asking me for money to do what he’s getting paid to do!!!!!! Or was I supposed to slip a $20 to each of the bartenders in order to be treated equally?
Perplexed by his comments I decided to tell him that I had ordered beverages from a different bartender and that I had tipped the other bartender more than 100% the cost of my drinks (the fact that I have to explain this to someone in the service industry is just unbelievable) then, to add to his lack of common sense he literally told me "well, then ask HIM to serve you".
At this point I was frustrated and moreover infuriated; I lost my temper and spilled a drink and showed him the finger, then walked out.
What I did had no excuse, but this was the worst I’ve been treated in any establishment, plus I’ve never seen a person in the service industry with such lack of ethics.
I will never go to this place again, and neither should you.
Go somewhere else were the staff actually want your business.
