January 2007 - Syd's has bagels to boot, pastries and lunch items too, but really this place is mainly a coffee house - and a kickin' one at that! With an attitude of 'friends don't let friends drink Starbucks', the place has several fresh brews on hand (including a couple of organic ones) and a lively yet low-key atmosphere. Rarely is more than a table or two free such is its popularity and the place sees more ibooks than a Mac commercial. No matter whether you're a trendy Shawn White follower or just a casual local, this seems to be the place to hang in Tahoe City. Friends don't let friends go anywhere else.
