| "Nice ski mountain" |
by Cleo (from Calgary) March 2007 - While snowboarding at Lake Tahoe, I visited Sugar Bowl for a day with extended family (we were ages 2- 45). Unfortunately, the day we visited was cold and windy which led to icy conditions and some chairs/runs being closed but it did not detract from our day out riding. The ski mountain has a lot to offer skiers/riders of varying ability and a nice combination of up-to-date facilities and easy-going atmosphere. Sugar Bowl appears to be investing quite a lot in the resort with a new lodge and several new high-speed chairs giving quick access to much of the mountain. I imagine the resort is very busy on holidays and weekends being directly off of Interstate 80 (Tahoe to San Francisco and Sacramento), but it was relatively uncrowded during our time there and I rode the chairs seeing runs and gladed areas that would be brilliant with a bit of fresh powder on the ground. If skiing/riding Tahoe, Sugar Bowl is definitely worth checking out!

Thank you for your nice comments.
Sugar Bowl, the place where it all started 68 years ago, just keeps getting better with age. From the most convenient location and deepest snowfall to the incredible diversity of the terrain and longstanding commitment to excellent customer service, Sugar Bowl continues to offer 'More Fun and Less Hassle'. Add in the fact that Sugar Bowl is consistently ranked as having the friendliest staff in the Sierra and you’ll see why you need to be skiing and riding at “The Bowl” more this winter.
Sugar Bowl is the closest major resort to Sacramento and the Bay Area on the western slope of the Sierra, which means convenient, easy access and less hassle. It’s not just that you’re on the mountain sooner; you’re also ahead of the crowd on the way home! When people talk about traffic jams in and around the Sierra, they never mention the road to Sugar Bowl. Sugar Bowl is by far the most hassle free resort to get in and out of.
While Sugar Bowl’s been busy upgrading and expanding the resort, the one thing that that hasn’t changed is the resort’s commitment to great customer service. Sugar Bowl is still about out rich and storied past, plenty of fresh snow, warm sun and good friends, a commitment to genuinely friendly service, and a common love for gliding down a great mountain. Sugar Bowl still remains a locals’ favorite with a family-friendly attitude.
So, this season experience 'More Fun and Less Hassle' at Sugar Bowl with several options, from daily charges to season passes and Sugar Bowl’s exclusive Core Rewards Program, which offers reduced-rate ticket options, less waiting in line, automatic credit card charging, and redeemable reward points for ever dollar spent. Check the website for details about these great programs. Sugar Bowl is redoubling its efforts to give you “more fun and less hassle”, so head up to Donner Summit and check out Sugar Bowl this season.
