by Brandy (from Dartmouth) March 2008 - La Cantina is the Mexican fast food contribution to Epcot’s World Showcase. The dining area is located outside under the protection of umbrellas and is always packed with people. The wait for food is about ten minutes. The menu is not extensive and features Mexican standards such as burritos, nachos, salads, and churros. We chose the Beef Burritos, nachos, and a tortilla salad. None of the items were particularly good. Most meals cost about $10 and they even charge $3 for a side of guacamole. The burritos were neither big nor spicy. The salad was not particularly crisp and also lacked flavour. Since it is the first or last restaurant in the World Showcase, it is always busy. An open table is hard to find but the ones on the outer edge with a view of the lake should be coveted. There are plenty of good restaurants at Epcot. I recommend avoiding La Cantina. Neither the prices nor the food are very good.
