| "Only a "So So" Experience" |

June 2007 - 1. We met the boat at a public boat ramp and had to step over large broken concrete to get on board.
2. I paid to have the boat for for my entire family (party of 5) and was met by the owner and a relative of his visiting from out of town.
3. The owner's visitor got the front seat along with the owner, me and my family sat behind both of them and got to look at their heads and backs for the next 90 minutes.
(I was disappointed that someone else came along with us as I asked when I made the reservations whether my family would be the only ones on the boat and was told we would be unless an individual paying customer signed up, which did not happen.)
4. Be aware this is NOT a ride through the marsh or swamp. This is basically a ride down the 75 foot wide river and back with few if any trees near by. You are NOT way back in the swamp by any stretch of the imagination While on the river we saw 4-5 other airboats, 10-12 folks fishing, 4 ATV's, a LOT of power lines a dead gator and a dumped big-screen TV set. We did see 20-30 gators, 1 bald eagle and a lot of cows.
5. I would have rather paid more money (we paid $220 with "tip") and be taken back into the swamp and marsh away from people for a real private back woods experience, which this was NOT.
6. The owner stopped two or three times for about 10 minutes each during the 90 minute "ride" and we just sort of sat around and batted the breeze. That bugged me as we paid for a 90 minute airboat ride and not 60 minutes of ride and 30 minutes of stop and talk.
Bottom line: I was disappointed with the experience and would try another airboat service next time.
I give it 2 of 5 stars.
