March 2008 - The Lotus Blossom restaurant is located and operated as part of the China pavilion in the Epcot theme park in Florida. Like everything else at Disney theme parks, the Lotus Blossom was bright, clean, and friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not offer table service and its menu is limited. However, the food it does offer is very good. I ordered the Mongolian Beef Sandwich. The beef was thinly sliced and marinated in a sweet and tangy sauce. The pita-type bun was lightly grilled with oil. The sandwich was a bit on the small size but it tasted fantastic. My dining partner chose the Orange chicken. Again, the portion of chicken was not great but the chicken was tender and the sauce was bold and refreshing. Other menu items not sampled included assorted meat and vegetarian stir-fry and dumplings. Almost all mains were priced between $7 and $12. Many of the Lotus Blossom's menu items can be eaten in a hurry and while walking. I recommend sitting across from the restaurant in the Chinese garden.
