October 2007 - I visited the Hanalei Colony Resort where my daughter and her husband were staying in Late September and early October. We were treated to spectacular views, beautiful beaches, the continuous sound of surf, and every attempt was made by staff at the Hanalei Colony Resort to make their visit memorable as well as our visits with them. Staff were very helpful with wedding arrangements and I think I speak for many friends who came and went, that the wedding planner helped us every step of the way. Unfortunately, the occasion was marred only by a misunderstanding between the owner of the Hanalei Day Spa and a friend of my daughters who booked a message separately for herself, on the same day that my daughter, her daughter, and I would be receiving a message. I was a little surprised by the owners reaction to a cancellation made in more than the alloted 24 hours prior (she had her cell phone bill to prove this), but it was not until I had the unfortunate experience of overhearing her tell another resort employee her version of what happened. Hearing her ruined any benefit there was to a perfectly lovely day and massage. Although I would highly recommend the Hanalei Colony Resort to anyone who really wants to get away from it all, I would recommend looking to Princeville or Lihue for a Massage.
