September 2007 - Backpackers is a hostel located on the north shore of Oahu, in the surfer town of Haleiwa. This was the most fantastic place we stayed in all of Hawaii. We opted to stay in their Beach house, which overlooked to Three Tables beach. The room was large with two double beds, a smaller bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette and a little dinning area. The main house is across the street. It holds the office and laundry facilities. The cost was good at about $70US per night, with free parking. Our balcony overlooked the ocean and we slept with the patio door open. Haleiwa is a quiet little town and all you cold hear at night was the waves crashing against the rocks. The rooms had good locks on them, but we felt very safe. There was good access to all the rooms from the open hallway, but there were stairs, so the top floors would not be wheelchair accessible. The office was also upstairs. It is run by a very nice group of people, mostly younger surfer guys, but they really make you feel welcome. This is a hostel we will defiantly visit again. It is very accessible, just off the main highway. **In the first picture I've posted, you can see the railing of the balcony as I took a picture of the view of the beach from our room.
