August 2007 - FYI- I had a horrible experience with the owners of koa northwest chicago, I had reserved a cabin for 4 nights and a couple of days before my reservation was involved in a car accident with my two kids who were injured and the 16 year old girl totaled my car, well to make a long story short I realized they had a cancelation policy which stated that you had to cancel 7days before your date of stay. So when I explained the situation to the owner he said I agreed to the policy's terms and conditions and there's no exceptions. Needless to say he wouldn't refund my deposit and on top of that he said I would be billed for another night!!! And I told him that on koa's website does not say anything about being charged for another night. I even read him the exact wording on the website but he didn't care and when I got off the phone with him he charged my credit card 61.00 without my authorization!!! Do NOt stay at this campground!!!! Anyone have anything like this happen to them?
