October 2007 - Carrabba's Italian Grill is located south of I-88 along highway 59 in Naperville, IL. The restaurant is a popular choice among locals and visitors, who have come to know this small chain of eateries.
We visited early on a Saturday night, just ahead of the local homecoming crowd which quickly filled the place to near capacity.
Carrabba's atmosphere is very pleasant as was the service. We ordered two pasta dishes, both of which arrived in prompt fashion. We shared a small salad, which was unspectacular but were also served warm, fresh Italian bread which more than made up for it. The chicken ravioli, as most Carrabba's dishes, was made fresh and served in a wonderful tomato cream-type sauce. Texture and taste were superb and the serving was, if not overwhelming, certainly ample. Both dishes and our softdrinks brought the bill to less than $30.
House specialties we didn't try at Carrabba's include crispy calamari, chicken marsala, tender filet, unique pasta dishes and handmade pizzas baked in a wood-burning oven (tempting!). The restaurant offers fresh fish, seafood and meats basted with special seasonings, grilled over a wood-fired grill.
For a nice dinner that will not cost a fortune, we'd certainly recommend Carrabba's.
